PDM demands that Prosecutor General's Office Initiates Criminal Prosecution for Usurpation of State Power by Current Government
Today, members of PDM's parliamentary faction filed a criminal law denouncement in which they demand that Prosecutor General's Office initiate criminal prosecution for usurpation of state power, in the time between June 8-15, against president Igor Dodon, Maia Sandu, Andrei Nastase, members of Sandu Government and members of parliamentary majority. In their address, members of PDM's parliamentary faction also demand that the prosecutors take all legal measures necessary to bring to justice individuals guilty of having committed this grave crime against the people.

Members of PDM's faction present a summary of legal circumstances that, in the time between June 8-15, ended with violation of the Constitution and of the rulings of the Constitutional Court by Igor Dodon, Maia Sandu, Andrei Nastase and the 61 members of PSRM-PAS-PPDA factions. During the mentioned time, these individuals took state power, having no constitutional and legitimate right to do so, despite the fact that several rulings of the Constitutional Court pointed to the illegal character of these actions.

The aforementioned individuals acted deliberately and intentionally, because they knew about the illegal actions, and they were aware of the rulings of the Constitutional Court. However, they continued to adopt illegal decisions aiming to take over state power, states the request signed by members of PDM's parliamentary faction.

Thus, the democrats state that all elements that constitute the crime stipulated in art.339 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova are there, and prosecution authorities must initiate criminal proceedings in this sense.
