The President of DPM had a Meeting with the Co-Rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
On Thursday, the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, had a discussion with Maryvonne Blondin (France) and Egidijus Vareikis (Lithuania), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, who are on their first monitoring visit to Chisinau.
The President of the Democratic Party reiterated the commitment of the party and of the governing coalition to modernize the society and improve citizens' level of life. He also said that DPM will take all efforts to ensure a new pro-European coalition after the parliamentary elections this year and invited the PACE co-rapporteurs to monitor the electoral process in the Republic of Moldova.
Maryvonne Blondin and Egidijus Vareikis, appointed co-rapporteurs for Moldova at the beginning of this year, wanted to learn from the president of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc about the political situation in our country, the most recent legislative evolutions concerning democracy, rule of law and human rights, as well as about the preparations for parliamentary elections in 2018.
The meeting took place in an open atmosphere and both the leader of DPM and the co-rapporteurs for PACE expressed the wish to continue good cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe,
