The Leader of the Governing Coalition, Vlad Plahotniuc, Had a Meeting with Congressman from Texas, William Ballard Hurd
On Wednesday, at the DPM headquarters, Vlad Plahotniuc, the leader of the governing coalition of the Republic of Moldova, had a meeting with Congressman William Ballard Hurd, Representative from Texas.
Vlad Plahotniuc thanked the Congressman for the constant support that he provides to the Republic of Moldova and for the fact that he mentions our country as an example in discussions about countering Russian propaganda. The officials also discussed consolidation of bilateral relations between Moldova and the US, as well as intensification of strategic dialog between the US and the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, the leader of the Coalition presented the achievements of the Government in the last two years, progress accomplished in developing the economy and increasing the citizens' level of life, measures taken to consolidate institutions and counter corruption, as well as the vision of the Coalition with regard to the geopolitical situation in Eastern Europe.
In his turn, Congressman Will Hurd, who is a member of two line committees in the House of Representatives - Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and Committee on Internal Security - appreciated the efforts taken by the Republic of Moldova on its way of getting closer to the West and the internal reforms concerning the security of Moldova. He stated that Russia is a concern for the United States and expressed regret that international agreements regarding the Transnistrian region had not been followed by Russian Federation. He also specified that he appreciates the progress achieved by Moldova with regard to Transnistrian issue settlement.
In the end, Vlad Plahotniuc mentioned that the Republic of Moldova has a developing business environment, with real opportunities for investors and mentioned that American investments are welcome in our country.
