Grand concert held for May 9 in Chisinau. Over 50 000 people came to the event

Over 50 000 people came last evening to see local and international singers performing. The concert begun at 17:00 local time, when folk ensembles and singers took the stage.

People who came to the concert for May 9 also had the chance to hear Eugen Doga, in the Great National Assembly Square, who entertained the guests with his most well known waltz, My Sweet and Tender Beast. The composer congratulated all present and organizers for the biggest hora Moldova has ever seen.

Surprises continued. At 19:00, the renowned Russian singer Nikolai Baskov took the stage. The artist has met beforehand and spoke with leader of PDM Vlad Plahotniuc. Nikolai Baskov expressed his joy in returning to Chisinau and thanked the public for the warm welcome.

In his turn, Vlad Plahotniuc recalled the significance of May 9 and urged everyone to live in peace and understanding. "I believe it important for all of us to remember the people who sacrificed their lives so that we can stand here today, for us all to live in peace," Vlad Plahotniuc declared.

The Concert continued with other renowned singers, such as Irina Rimes, Delia, Blue and Thomas Anders. Around midnight, the sky was lit by a grand firework show.
